oishii

Last night, John and I went to our favorite little shabu shabu restaurant in Gardena owned by the Shin Sen Gumi folks. It was our "go to" place when we were dating. Now that we're married and trying to save money, we don't go as often. But yesterday, we were both craving some oishii (delicious) Japanese food!

I do not like sushi and I am not a big fan of Japanese food. Yes, GASP. I've come to the conclusion that I don't like Japanese food because it's not spicy enough for me. However, this restaurant is one of my favorite restaurants! They are known for their shabu shabu but we are all about two things there: (1) the hibachi and (2) my favorite, the motsu beef intestine soup.

We are creatures of habit. We always order this first.

Octopus with some sort of wasabi marinate. So. Good.

Next, hibachi time!

What kind of meat is that, you ask?

Beef tongue and pork jowl! Sounds scary. Taste great.

Then some spicy Japanese sausages.

Last, John's favorite, beef flap meat topped with garlic. Yup. Straight up, fresh pressed garlic. Oishii!

Then we shared this yummy hot pot of super spicy soup! This is the motsu beef intestine soup I was talking about. It doesn't look too scary, right?!

Up close and personal view of the goodies in the soup!

If you're ever in Gardena, you have got to try this place! Trust me, you'll love it!
